Premiering on May 22nd through May 24th at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Speaking Chinese is a new cross-cultural, multidisciplinary sonic dance theater based on the writings of Chinese American author Zhang Ailing (Eileen Chang). It will be a collaborative project of Director/Choreographer Kim Epifano with renowned Chinese composer Zhu Jian’er, Chinese ballerina Hou Honglan, American dancer/actor C. Derrick Jones, and producer Barry Plews of the Creative Futures cultural exchange program, among others. Speaking Chinese & Lure Dance are presented by Epiphany Productions Sonic Dance Theater, in conjunction with the San Francisco International Arts Festival.

Beili Liu will conduct a slideshow presentation to discuss her past works and the creation of “Lure.”
There will be a professional showroom tour after the lecture. In addition, CCC staff will talk about upcoming Chinese Culture Center exhibitions.
