The Chinese Culture Center welcomes all donations, whether general or for specific
programs. Making memorial donations to the Center is a special way of paying a lasting
tribute to those you love. It is a way of keeping both their values, and your own, alive.
In donating to the Center, you keep our Roots program going and allow new generations of
young Chinese Americans to discover their heritage, hone their genealogical research
skills, and unite with family members in their ancestral villages in China. Your donations
support our workshops in classical Chinese music and dance, which expose non-Chinese
children to the
collective achievements of China, helping them to see individual Chinese
in a positive light. Chinese-American children also attend the same workshops,
and the example of the cultural achievements of their ancestors has a
powerful and exhilarating effect on their self-esteem. In addition, you
make possible exhibitions and performances of traditional and contemporary
art and music by established and emerging artists at San Francisco's premier
venue for Chinese culture. Like the grandmother who cares for her grandson
- imparting to him all her acquired wisdom, values, and skills - your
memorial tribute to a loved one reaches across the years to help, inspire,
and cultivate new generations.
