MANNI LIU RESIGNS AS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/CURATORThe Chinese Culture Foundation of San Francisco announces the resignation of its Executive Director/Curator, effective July 15, 2000. Ms. Liu will be joining United Commercial Bank in its Marketing Division. In the interim, Gloria Tai, President of the Board of Directors of the CCF, will assume the role of Acting Executive Director while the Board conducts a search for an Executive Director. Ms. Liu began her work at the Chinese Culture Center in 1991 as Curatorial Assistant and was promoted to Curator in 1993. In 1998 she became the Executive Director/Curator for the organization. During her tenure, Ms. Liu and her staff presented many art exhibitions and projects with lasting impact such as the genealogy program "In Search of Roots" and the exhibitions Shiwan Ceramics: Beauty, Color, and Passion; Legacy, Transition in Ink Painting: Exhibition of Ten Artists from Taiwan; and the upcoming Small Wonders: Chinese Snuff Bottles from Bay Area Collectors, curated by renowned art historian Mr. Clarence Shangraw. The internet friendly Ms. Liu worked with the Board of Directors to connect the Chinese Culture Center to the world wide web - establishing our website (www.c-c-c.org), which is continually updated with information and cultural content. To attract a new and younger audience, Ms. Liu has also secured the loan of objects for an exhibition honoring Bruce Lee, the martial artist, which will open this October 2000.
