Through January 8, 2011
After three months in the CCC gallery, Pat Tseng’s “Emblems of Ethereal Grace” will be closing next Saturday, January 8th. There is still time to experience this unique and elegant exhibition of handmade, one of a kind adornments, including a special collection for purchase generously donated to the CCC by the artist. Timeless, exquisite and subtle, Pat Tseng’s work defies categorization: it is both jewelry and fine art. Her work has been shown in the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts, and in retail venues ranging from Saks Fifth Avenue to the Smithsonian.
Her work combines contemporary craft and ageless artifact, using novel silk knotting techniques and patterns and integrating ancient Chinese jade, jewels, and carvings. The adornments in this particular exhibition represent the mature work of the artist at her best.
Emblems of Ethereal Grace will be on view Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11am to 4pm at the Chinese Culture Center Gallery, 750 Kearny St., 3rd floor. Admission to the gallery is free. For more information, please call 415-986-1822, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
