Organized by the Northwest print Council in Portland, this exhibition presents forty contemporary prints from the faculty of the printmaking department at the China National Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou, on the banks of West Lake. Artists include Chan Haiyan, Wang Gongyi, Han Likun, and Gan Zhanglun, among others.

These prints will be presented as a gift to the Vivian and Gordon Gilkey Center for Graphic Arts of the Portland Art Museum. Likewise, forty Northwest American prints will be exhibited in China and then become a part of the permanent collection at the China National Academy of Fine Arts.

The Chinese Culture Center will host the Chinese collection of prints in this exhibition from September 12 to November 1, 1998.
