Exhibitions

Founded in 1965 and opening to the public in 1973, the Chinese Culture Center seeks to foster an understanding and appreciation of Chinese and Chinese-American culture and art. The founders of CCC are members of the Chinatown community who saw the need to preserve their cultural heritage. Advantageously located in Chinatown, the CCC attracts a broad spectrum of audiences, from the local Chinese community and people from the greater Bay Area, to tourists from all over the country and abroad.

Are you an aspiring artist who has a portfolio ready to show? Join the Chinese Culture Center Online Gallery Exhibit, it’s free!

The CCC offers a wide variety of exciting exhibitions of traditional and contemporary art, ranging from famous artists like Don Kingman and Chang Dai-Chien to local young artist Raymond Hu. In the past three years, recognizing the importance of art and culture as vehicles in building the community, we made an extra effort to reach out to school children and senior citizens by offering guided gallery tours, lectures and other activities. Over 800 visitors of school groups have enjoyed our recent exhibition: “Celebrating Spring: the Chinese Folk Art Way”.
