Join this tour to learn about history and culture from passionate educators and historians!

For this tour, you will learn about the amazing role that Chinatown has played in California history. You will experience an inspiring tour about the community’s struggle against discrimination, and how these struggles have been an integral part of the quest for equality by all Americans. We will take you through the lively streets and alleyways of San Francisco Chinatown.


Highlights can include:

Confucian and Greek philosophy: Learn how over 2,000 years of political philosophy from Chinese and Greek history intersect in Chinatown.

Chinese in early California: Learn how Chinese labor and expertise built California’s first industries and funded California’s early government.

Civil Rights Struggles of Chinese & African Americans: Learn how efforts to secure civil rights for African American, women, Chinese, and other groups has intertwined and built on each other for over 150 years.
