Harmony & Bliss 2012 Honorees
Dianne Feinstein: Feinstein is a dear friend of the Chinese community in America. As SF Supervisor, Feinstein has worked to strengthen relations between the US and China, while also establishing the first SF-Shanghai sister city relations which formalized in 1980. In 2011, Senator Dianne Feinstein successfully passed the Senate Resolution 201 and was appointed to the Federal District Court. She continues to be a strong voice for normal trade with China, which President Bill Clinton supported with China’s entry into the World Trade Organization.
Maurice Chuck: As an accomplished journalist, writer and tireless advocate for US-China relations, Chuck is a pioneer in fighting for the rights of Chinese in America. Maurice has founded and published the SF Journal and the Literati monthly magazine. Both publications dealt with news in China, community events in Chinatown, and first hand interviews with Chinese officials.
Yuan Yuan Tan: A Shanghai native, Tan is an accomplished principal dancer for the San Francisco Ballet. She has danced in lead roles such as Romeo & Juliet and Tomasson/Possokhov’s on Quixote.
