Prints Across the Pacific: An American and Chinese Exhibition Exchang

September 12 – November 1, 1998

Opening September 12 and running through November 1, 1998, Prints Across the Pacific: An American and Chinese Exhibition Exchange presents forty contemporary prints from the faculty of the printmaking department at the China National Academy of Fine Arts in Hangzhou. This exhibition is organized and toured by the Northwest Print Council in Portland. It was designed to promote cultural exchange between China and North America. The Center hosts the Chinese collection of prints by such artists as Chen Hai Yan, director of the print department in Hangzhou, Su Xinping, Zhao Zongzhao, Lu Ping, Pan Yuyu, and Wu Jide. These prints will become part of the permanent collection of the Portland Art Museum. Forty Northwest American prints will also be exhibited in China and then become part of the permanent collection of the China National Academy of Fine Arts.
